Things we’re still pondering after last night’s premiere of Mad Men

**SPOILER ALERT!** DO NOT READ IF YOU DON’T WANT TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENED ON THE MAD MEN SEASON 6 PREMIERE!

If you read that interview with Matt Weiner in the New York Times, you already know that he basically flipped a coin when it came to the premiere, as he was required to do either a two-hour premiere or a two-hour finale for this season. We got the premiere, and like most season starters, it was a sluggish reintroduction back into that era, at a crucial point in our history that anyone who’s turned back their calendars is well aware of all the insane events that are about to go down. But, we can’t be the only ones who are a little tired of stumbling back into the show like we just woke up with a hangover and need you to explain everything reallllllly slowly. So, we don’t know how we’re feeling, exactly, but we do have a couple points we’re still pondering:

We get that it’s paradise, but didn’t it start to drag on and feel like Don would never leave Hawaii?

Now that Peggy is the new Don, will she ever be happy again?

Wait, was she ever really happy before?

Did Abe really have to go so hippie just because it’s about to be the Summer of Love? Doesn’t it take some time to ease into these things? And do you really think Peggy would dig that look?

Is Joan morphing into a character from ‘Dallas?’

That lighter sending Don into an intensely private thought just before his photo shoot – is there no such thing as subtlety anymore?

Am I the only one who’s totally over Megan? Oh wait…

Is Betty suddenly a good mother figure or did her visit to New York reflect her boredom with life as much as her latenight snacking does? Maybe she’s the one who could use the extended trip to Hawaii.
