Taste a summer’s worth of cheeses with La Femme Du Fromage

On Saturday, August 23, join local cheese expert as she takes you on a sensory trip through her summer travels. Tonda Corrente of La Femme Du Frommage spent the summer taking trips with one goal in mind: to bring back delicious cheeses to Orlando. And this weekend, she wants to share her finds with you.

At her Summer of Fromage event, Corrente will showcase some of her favorite cheeses from her summer travels, as well as the stories that accompany them. You know what pairs well with cheese and storytelling? Wine. But wine won’t be served at the event, so, you’ll have to bring your own (which you are encouraged to do).

Now, we can attest that Corrente is damn good at picking out tasty cheeses. She’s the whole reason gjetost is even part of our vocabulary (don’t know what that is? Don’t even bother Google-ing it. Just run straight down to La Femme Du Fromage at the East End Market and buy a slice of the sweet, caramel-y cheese made with the whey of goat milk.)

Her sheer awesomeness is catching on nationwide, as well; Corrente and her cheese counter (along with the rest of East End Market) were featured on the front page of the Travel section of USA Today earlier this month.

The details:
When: 7 p.m. Saturday Aug. 23
Where: East End Market, 3201 Corrine Drive
Cost: $25
