Between offbeat music videos and a bizarre video promo for an upcoming show, my eyes have welcomed some strange sights this morning, and since sharing is scaring, I thought I’d kick off with the horrific new music video from Moonmen From Mars. Featuring an evil scientist that makes Michael Myers look soft, you’ll have to pin your eyelids open to keep from flinching as you rock along to Moonmen’s “Dr. Jones”:

Next up, I’ll need a late pass on this one, but I just caught the Delusionaires’ touchy throwback video for “The Scrump,” which they debuted in April. It’s as form-fitting to their sexy sax-driven sound (which would probably give Quentin Tarantino wet dreams) as their starlet’s white turtleneck:

Also, for those who are unaware, two of Delusionaires’ key members, Jim Ivy and Nadeem Khan, are reuniting and reforming their old band Obliterati on Sunday, Aug. 17 at Will’s Pub. (RSVP) The band was originally conceived out of the disparate music interests of its talented members, so they’re informed by music that touches a range of influences from Pavement to the Pop Group. This weekend, Gallery at Avalon Island’s Pat Greene declared they were his favorite Central Florida band ever, and I can’t think of a more appropriate endorsement considering Greene’s eclectic artsy leanings.

Then there’s this. Local band Me Chinese is releasing their debut album soon, and if you haven’t caught their weird-dancey live show yet, you’ll want to show up Saturday, Aug. 16 at Will’s Pub (RSVP) to hear their new songs live. But to give you a taste of their rainbow-pop flavor, check out this intriguing promo video they shot for the show:
