Here are the winners of the First Annual Orlando Music News OMNi Awards

July 13, 2011

Thanks to everyone who voted. More than 8,000 votes were cast, which I’m pretty sure is a whole lot. Congratulations to the winners, of course, but also to all of the nominees; the nomination process yielded a diverse cross-section of possibilities for all of the categories, making the poll itself that much better.

Now, on to the winners. I’ve listed the top vote-getter, and second- and third-place. I’ve also noted what percentage of the vote the top three got, as well as listing out the remaining nominees in alphabetical order. And yes, even though in several of the categories there was a vote differential when there wasn’t a percentage differential, I was predisposed to hand out ties. Read on:

category was “Venue for Local Music” – while HOB, Beecham and Firestone may occassionally book a local act, they primarily book touring acts and or events – The other venues listed book local bands 5-7 nights a week.
