A double dose of St. Vincent at the end of this year
Critics rushed to gush over St. Vincent’s new release, her self-titled fourth studio album released at the end of February. But here in Orlando, if you’re hoping to see the new queen of abstract pop live, you can relax, because she’s coming to town on two separate tours at the end of 2014, with a date in October and then another in December.
Her first show is at the Beacham at 6 p.m. Tuesday, October 7 ($25-$40), and while the Beacham is a sizable venue, this will be the more intimate of the pair of local concerts, with her return appearance as an opener for the Black Keys at Amway Center on December 17 ($33-$73). Tickets for the Amway date go on sale 10 a.m. May 16, so set an alarm now if you plan to attend.
Amway is an ambitious venue choice for the Black Keys and St. Vincent, although both have strong followings, they don’t enjoy the ubiquitous popularity of the Mileys or Biebers of the world, so we’ll see how they do filling up the arena. The Black Keys are touring on their new release, Turn Blue, which came out today. Listen now.
