Best bet: Win free tickets to see the Casket Girls
The last time the Casket Girls came through town, they were opening up for Black Moth Super Rainbow at the Social, so you may have noticed then that the band also features BMSR’s Ryan Graveface, in addition to the mystical sisters, Elsa and Phaedra Greene. They were touring on their 2012 debut then, Sleepwalking, and now they return on their latest, release, True Love Kills the Fairy Tale, due out Feb. 11. Listen to new track “Day to Day” now:
True Love resumes the eerie, playful relationship the sisters have with goth pop, and their romantic entanglement with David Lynch’s works (as influences) is obvious without having to smile at the mention on their Facebook. In addition to indie pop that’s catchy but not corny, the Casket Girls put on a show, vibing in the kind of weird, cool way that makes for enchanting music videos and similarly magnetic live shows.
This year, they’re playing Will’s Pub as the headliner of “Graveface Roadshow,” also featuring the Stargazer Lilies and Dreamend, 8 p.m. Friday, March 21 for $10, BUT one lucky fan can win a pair of tickets. Here’s how:
Comment below with a link to your favorite video featuring the Casket Girls, Black Moth Super Rainbow or David Lynch. The winner will be chosen at random on Friday, March 14, so you have a while to peruse the videos and identify your pick.
And if you win, I’ll pull your video from the comments and feature it in the online version of the story we run on Casket Girls in the issue due out Wednesday, March 19.
