Golden Pelicans dominate Maximum RocknRoll’s ‘Top Tens’ this month
We’ve got a special thing in Orlando in the Golden Pelicans, who not only put on a dependably energetic and kickass show every time they play (whether it’s at Uncle Lou’s or the Social), but they also usually bolster their lineups with equally fresh punk. So it’s pretty rad to see Maximum RocknRoll giving the Pelicans multiple gold stars with four separate reviewers calling out their most recent 7-inch The Earls as essential listening. Listen below and if you dig it, you can find the vinyl at Floridas Dying.
The next Golden Pelicans show is on Oct. 26, and it’s all Halloween-themed, so if you show up in a costume at Will’s Pub, you can get in for $5 instead of $7. The lineup includes Peach Kelli Pop (Burger Records), Guantanamo Baywatch (dirtnap), plus Misfits cover band Psycho 78. I’m not saying it’s better than what you already have planned for that Saturday, but I am saying this is a perfect primer for all the Halloween nonsense to follow the next week. So long and thanks for all the low-end distortion, dudes.
