Urban Art Museum debuts on Mills Avenue

November 19, 2013

On Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2013, the first outdoor artwork in Orlando’s new Urban Art Museum was unveiled at 932 North Mills Ave.

The backlit metal wall sculpture was created by artist Marcos Cruz, with technical assistance from Abbott Electrical, and fills a formerly filthy 9″ wide gap between Tako Cheena and Saya Couture.

The project is the first of a proposed series in the Mills 50 Main Street District, and was funded through Kickstarter campaign last summer, and installation number two is already on another crowdfunding site. Read our story on public art around Orlando, including the Urban Art museum, in this week’s Arts & Culture section.
