SnSpIf you missed the chance to explore Snap!’s nifty new home on Colonial Drive at this morning’s Urban Thought event (Urban Think Foundation chair Craig Ustler in conversation with Orlando City Soccer Club president Phil Rawlins; by all accounts it was quite lively), tomorrow is another day.

Orlando’s Snap! Space hosts Jamie Tworkowski, founder of To Write Love on Her Arms, at a Creative Mornings meeting 8:30 a.m. Friday, Nov. 22.

TWLOHA is a nonprofit dedicated to finding help and presenting hope to those who suffer from depression, addiction, self-injury and suicidal tendencies. The group has Orlando roots: It was founded right here in 2006 when Tworkowski wrote a story about his friend Renee, who struggled with self-injury and addiction. The story, which Tworkowski titled “To Write Love on Her Arms,” went viral, and T-shirts were made and sold as a way to pay for Renee’s treatment. Since then, TWLOHA has served as “a bridge to hope and help” for people facing the same issues.

Creative Meetings is “breakfast lecture series for the creative community” founded in New York in 2008 that has since spread around the country.

Reserve tickets here. Snap! Space is located at 1013 Colonial Drive, Orlando, 32803. Stay tuned for Snap!’s official opening weekend in January 2014.
