Feeling Fest-ive: Check out Orlando bands on Fest comps

Some of Orlando’s brightest punk bands will undoubtedly be representing hard at this year’s Fest in Gainesville – which, by the way, there’s an app for that – including area band You Blew It! who seems to constantly be blipping on my radar for one great reason or another. This time, it’s cuz they’re featured on one of the official Fest compilations, alongside Braid and Look Mexico. You can stream that comp below:

Then, there’s punk-indie crossover band the New Lows, who made Punktastic’s Fest preview comp for their song “Stove” from their excellent release from last year, I Couldn’t Sleep (which, pssst … was just released on vinyl by Kiss of Death). You can check out that comp streaming below:

Fest is, as always, Halloween weekend at various venues in Gainesville, Fla., starting Oct. 31 through Nov. 3, but there’s a pre-Fest party at Backbooth for those still in town on Oct. 30 with Real Friends, Mixtapes, Forever Came Calling, Pentimento and Old Again, plus a backpack giveaway at that show, in case you need something to stow your clothes in while you couch-surf through Fest.
