Wet and Wild: Church Street throws Rehab-style pool party

wet pool partyAnyone who’s been to Las Vegas (or any person even remotely familiar with Sin City) would agree that one of the biggest draws for visitors – beyond the gambling, hookers and 24-hour buffets – is the massive pool parties.

In fact, one of the most infamous poolside bashes was turned into a reality series on TrueTV, called Rehab: Party at the Hard Rock Hotel, which centers on behind-the-booze scenes of bartenders and pool party patrons.

This Sunday, July 28 our very own Church Street in downtown Orlando turns into a mini Vegas, as a group of local bars – Don Jefe’s Tequila Parlor, Native Social Bar, Chillers – transforms the street into one massive Rehab-style pool party.

It’s called Wet on Church Street, and not only will there be an Olympic-sized pool set up for your splish-splashing pleasure, but this shindig comes complete with all the pool-party fixings: poolside bottle service and drinking games the likes of pool pong, flip cup and cornhole. To get the party really rockin’, a group of local Orlando DJs, including Mantas, Nova, A-Rock and Crespo, spin tunes throughout the afternoon.

This Sunday Funday party is set to go down all afternoon and into the evening (2-9 p.m.), and tickets range from $10 (in advance) to $20 (at the door). To make table and bottle service reservations, be sure to call ahead (407-963-9553). Oh and of course, bathing suits are strongly encouraged.

In case you aren’t familiar with the type of wet-and-wild foolishness that goes down at a Rehab pool party, see below for a primer.
