Photo Gallery: Despicablimp Spotted In Orlando
If you happen to see a ginormous yellow cyclops hovering overhead this weekend, don't panic: it's just the Despicablimp. To promote the June 22 release of Despicable Me 2, Universal Pictures is parading a 165-feet long, 55-feet high helium-filled Minion on a cross-country publicity tour.
The blimp was sighted in the air over eastern Orlando Thursday evening en route to the executive airport, where it is currently moored. Unfortunately, high winds and rain kept it grounded on Friday, and may prevent any further appearances this weekend before the Despicablimp departs Monday to Miami for the Latin Music Awards on April 25.
Here is a gallery of close-up snapshots I took of the blimp tethered near the Orange County Expressway Authority offices off Lake Underhill. Below, find Universal's full press release about the Despicablimp's nationwide tour.
