Video: Knightly News interview with James Seevakumaran’s roommate Arabo “BK” Babakhani + audio of 911 call

UCF student publication Knightly News has posted a video interview with Arabo “BK” Babakhani, the roommate of former student James Seevakumaran, who was found dead by police in his dorm room early Monday morning. Babakhani says that after Seevakumaran pointed a gun in his face, he ran to his room and called 911, thwarting his roommate’s plans to wreak havoc on the campus.

UCF officials also say that two packages for Seevakumaran were delivered to campus but never picked up.

They included two magazine clips, a gun sling and a shooting-related training DVD. They arrived on March 12, but they were not picked up. Staff alerted police about them today.

Authorities have also released the 911 call from Babakhani, which you can listen to below. During the call, Babakhani tries to explain to an incredulous Seminole County 911 operator that Seevakumaran pulled a gun on him, and the operator has a tough time understanding what’s going on because of a fire alarm screeching in the background. Babakhani becomes so frustrated at one point that he almost hangs up and calls campus police. Eventually, the Seminole County Sheriff’s Department connects to campus police.
