Big Wheel’s chef Tony Adams opens pop-up restaurant at Urban ReThink

Most of the time, a pop-up restaurant is a chance for a chef with an established restaurant to experiment, stretch the boundaries a little. In the case of Kennebec, though, itâ€™s more like a chance for one of our favorite local chefs to serve food on plates. Tony Adams, proprietor of the much-loved Big Wheel Food Truck, brings his nose-to-tail creations to an actual dining room for just five days with a temporary restaurant located in downtownâ€™s Urban ReThink. Diners will see some of their Big Wheel favorites, like the octopus with chickpea ragoĂ»t and the braised chicken with lardons, but the menu will mostly feature elevated versions of Adamsâ€™ locavore specialties (expect to see a menu heavy on seafood and pork); Brent Hernandez of Redlight Redlight will collaborate with the BWP team for beer pairings. Saturday nightâ€™s finale dinner will feature a prix fixe menu rather than a la carte, with a single seating limited to 50 diners ($90 per person, $40 for wine pairing with the meal). â€“ Jessica Bryce Young
