New Orleans has the Sazerac: rye punched with absinthe, a perfect gut-punch start to a crazy NOLA night. Venice has the Bellini: soft white peaches in prosecco, as gentle and balmy as an afternoon in a gondola. So look, Audubon Park deserves its own cocktail too! Why not? Audubon Park has its known qualities – among them independence, creativity and a huge emphasis on local connection. And this cocktail recipe contest will judge entries on how well they capture those qualities in a glass, using locally distilled liquors (donated by Winter Park Distillery) and local/ethical ingredients (sponsored by Mark Baratelli’s Food Truck Bazaar) where possible. Come and taste the fruits of these bartenders’ labor, and judge for yourself whether they manage to blend Park Ave CDs, Big Daddy’s and Rainbow Sno-Cones into an alcoholic treat. – Jessica Bryce Young
