Local food truck chefs compete in Fill the Grill Cook-off finals

The challenge? Twenty dollars’ worth of ingredients scrambled out of Whole Foods’ tony aisles in 20 minutes, and another 20 minutes to turn them into an impressive summer meal. This year’s edition of Fill the Grill featured only food truck chefs; earlier this month Fork in the Road’s Bryce Balluff edged out Gastro-Truck’s Catarina Triacca, and last week Big Wheel’s Tony Adams and 5 Gastronomy’s Bruno Fonseca tied – meaning Thursday’s event will be a three-way race between Adams, Fonseca and Balluff. One thing about mobile chefs: They’re comfortable performing under pressure and they can definitely take the heat. Expect greatness. – Jessica Bryce Young
